Fractional CTO & AI Engineer — AI for High-Compliance B2B SaaS
Márton began his career in research, completing a PhD in computer systems and networking at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, with a research internship at Deutsche Telekom's T-Labs in Berlin, followed by four years as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, where he published peer-reviewed research in neuroscience and distributed systems. He moved to Berlin to join KILT Protocol as Research Lead, Product Owner and Full Stack Developer, designing its self-sovereign digital identity protocol and token economics, authoring its white paper, and leading delivery from research through to mainnet, including a Deloitte-partnered KYC integration.
Since 2023 he has worked as a fractional CTO and AI consultant, delivering 20+ engagements for startups and enterprises from MVP launches to production-grade AI infrastructure, and he is also Founder and CTO of Gigentic, an agentic-payments portal bringing together freelancers and AI agents that has won awards at multiple Solana hackathons. He specialises in auditable, verifiable AI for regulated industries, is increasingly focused on formal verification, and serves as a panel CTO with CTO Grand Rounds.
I come from a research background originally and then I worked in startups, so I can basically combine the research rigor with the startup 'we have two weeks to solve this' mentality.
Good
match for
B2B SaaS companies in regulated industries such as FinTech, RegTech, legal and health that know they need to become AI-first and want a hands-on expert to design and build it. Particularly strong where AI has to be auditable, explainable and traceable to its source for customers and regulators, including preparation for the EU AI Act. Equally valuable for teams moving from simple prompts to RAG and agentic workflows, companies wanting to make AI-written systems secure and defensible through formal verification, and MedTech projects that benefit from his neuroscience research background.

When to bring us in
Typical decisions
The critical technology decisions leaders face when delivery, investment or product direction is at risk. How do we move from simple prompts to RAG and agentic workflows that handle our proprietary logic?
How do we make our AI auditable and explainable to customers and regulators?
What does the EU AI Act mean for our product, and which risk category do we fall into?
How do we make sure every AI answer can be traced back to its source?
We handle sensitive health or financial data - how do we build AI that stays GDPR-compliant?
With AI now writing most of our code, how do we make sure our system does exactly what we intended and is defensible against attacks?
Should we hire a team of AI engineers, or can one senior engineer with the right AI set-up deliver it?
How do we make our architecture enterprise-ready in a secure and cost-effective way?
How do we take a blockchain or digital identity protocol from research to mainnet?
Examples
Built a hybrid RAG pipeline with durable workflow orchestration (Temporal) for a RegTech SaaS, delivering AI responses with 100% citation provenance for regulated document analysis
Delivered production AI for compliance and back-office automation, cutting manual handling by 40-80% with evaluation pipelines that make every output checkable.
Architected a 4-agent LLM coaching system for a wellness startup with dynamic 6-layer prompt assembly and emotional intensity mapping, with fully auditable, GDPR-compliant traces, and built the accompanying mobile app
Led KILT Protocol from research to mainnet launch, including a Deloitte-partnered KYC integration, delivering decentralised identity solutions
Transitioned the development process to an AI-first approach and built the end-to-end multi-chain integration test framework for a Bitcoin/Lightning to EVM/Starknet DEX
